Be bold and go charred!
This board has been seared using the traditional Japanese method of Shou Sugi Ban. The solid cherry board was burnt, charring the top layer which permanently locking in the natural black colour. In matt black finish reveals its underlying and subtle grain patterns in the correct light. A truly dynamic and vibrant board that will perfectly compliment the right home. These are not for everybody, but is it for you?
Care instructions:
Do not put in dishwasher
Hand wash with soap and water
Towel dry immediately
Do not allow wood products to soak in water.
Re-apply a coat of mineral oil every month to best condition the wood and rejuvenate the natural colors.
This board was immersed in a mineral oil bath for 24 hrs and topped off with a hand polish of mineral oil and beeswax.
This finish is 100% food safe.
